This is one of the largest pieces we have had by Madeline Naranjo.  Did you know that every piece is a pinch pot? Unlike most other Pueblo potters, she does not coil build her pottery, but each piece starts out as a ball of clay and she “pinches” it into its form.  That is quite a process especially for something this size!  This bowl has four carved bears which are matte.  They are next to mountain designs.  There the triangular mountains with the terrace mountains below.  It is a very intricately carved bowl for the size and there is a striking contrast between the polished and matte surfaces.  Madeline’s designs are always innovative and beautifully executed.  The bowl is signed on the bottom, ‘Madeline E. Naranjo”.
