Marian Naranjo worked with her husband, Ernest Naranjo, in the early 1970s.  She would make and polish the pottery while he would carve or etch the designs.  Later, she would work in the 1980s with Kevin Naranjo and continue in a similar style of teamwork.  This is an early piece by Ernest and Marian.  The bowl is coil built and has a deeply carved avanyu (water serpent) encircling the piece. There are cloud designs extending down from the rim.  It is signed on the bottom, “Ernest & Marian Rose”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
