Marian Naranjo worked with her husband, Ernest Naranjo, in the early 1970s.  She would make and polish the pottery while he would carve or etch the designs.  Later, she would work in the 1980s with Kevin Naranjo and continue in a similar style of teamwork.  This is an early piece by Ernest and Marian.  The plate is fully polished on the front and fired tan.  The tan coloration is the natural color of the clay.  The plate was then lightly etched with butterfly and flower desings.  It is signed on the back, “Ernest & Marian Rose”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
