Marian Naranjo worked with her husband, Ernest Naranjo, in the early 1970s.  She would make and polish the pottery while he would etch the designs.  Later, she would work in the 1980s with Kevin Naranjo and continue in a similar style of teamwork.  This is one of her classic shapes with a wide shoulder and short neck. The jar is very thin-walled.  It is etched on one side with a realistic hummingbird with flowers.  The opposite side has a Mimbres style hummingbird.  Separating them are sections with old-style bird wings.  The jar is signed on the bottom, “Ernest & Marian Rose”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
