Rose Naranjo is the matriarch of one of the amazing families at Santa Clara Pueblo.  Descendants range from Roxanne Swentzell, Jody Folwell, Susan Folwell, Johnathan Naranjo, Rose Simpson, Nora Naranjo-Morse, and many others!  It is not often that we come across her pottery. This is a wide bowl that is fully polished.  It has a flower and cloud design etched into the clay.  It is fired red.  It is a simple but striking example of her pottery.  The piece is signed on the bottom, “Rose”.  It is from the 1970s.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  It is a unique piece by this influential matriarch.
