Thomas Natseway is one of the most renowned miniaturists in Pueblo pottery.  Rarely does he make a piece that is over 1″ tall or wide!  This miniature is wonderfully complex in design and style. The lid has a hummingbird as a sculpture on top and a flower for the base of the lid. The petals of the flower are carved through the clay.  The lid fits into the base and the “surprise” is that the inside of the base is painted with a classic Sikyatki design hand!  Check out the detail in the hand, it’s quite exceptional.  It is signed on the bottom, “Thomas Nasteway”.   It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
