Thomas Natseway is one of the most renowned miniaturists in Pueblo pottery.  Rarely does he make a piece that is over 1″ tall or wide!  This is one of those amazing pieces in both design and form that makes one realize why he is so well recognized for miniatures. The jar has flat sides and a sharp shoulder.  On the sides is it is painted with six butterflies. They range in coloration on the wings from green to white. There are flower designs below the butterflies.  Along the top of the shoulder are plant and flower designs.  The lid is carved into the shape of a butterfly and then painted with clay slips.  There is a lot of color and design on a piece this size!  The piece is signed, “Thomas Natseway”.
