$ 950.00

Fawn Garcia Navasie (b. 1959) is also known as “Little Fawn”.  She is a daughter of Eunice “Fawn” Navasie and a sister of Dawn and Dolly Navasie.  This large jar is coil built and stone polished. The jar has a wide shoulder and an asymmetric rim. The rim of the jar is polished red.  The body of the jar is fully designed with 23 Hopi style birds.  They undulate across the surface of the entire piece.  Each bird is painted with bee-weed (black) or highlighted with a red clay slip.  The surrounding area is stippled.  The jar was traditionally fired to create the blushes on the surface.  It is signed on the bottom, “Fawn”.   It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
