Navasie, Marianne – Water Jar with Bird Designs (1990s)

7"w x 5"h

$ 500.00

Marianne Navasie was a daughter of Joy “Frog Woman” Navasie and a granddaughter of Paqua Naha.  This large water jar is polished white and painted with bee-weed and red clay slip.  The jar has a series of stylized bird and bird wing designs above and below the shoulder.  It is a complicated design.   It is in good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair with some areas of fugitive black.   It is signed on the bottom with a frog hallmark and an M and a tadpole.
