Pajarito, Florence – Bowl with Birds and Flowers

Florence Pajarito (b. 1957) is a daughter of Mary and Joe Pajarito.  She began making pottery around 1996 and is known for her traditional style Santo Domingo pottery.  This bowl is coil built, painted with bee-weed (black) and clay slips. The bowl has four pueblo birds and four flowers painted in medallions above the shoulder of the piece.  The bottom is slipped red.  The inside of the bowl has a single Pueblo bird painted on the red clay surface.  The bowl is signed, “Florence Pajarito”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
