Doris Patricio was the matriarch of a family of exceptional potters, including Robert Patrico.  Each piece is coil-built and painted with bee-weed (black) and clay slips. This is a classic Acoma-shaped water jar with a round shoulder and short neck.  The jar has interlocking rain clouds around the neck.  Around the body of the jar are plant and rain designs.  The red slipped areas are polished, which creates a striking reflection of the light.  It is signed “D. Patricio”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
