Patricio, Georgia – Jar with Interlocking Butterflies

6"w x 4.5"h

$ 200.00

Georgia Patricio is a daughter of Lucy Juanico and a granddaughter of Joselita Ray and learned to make pottery from her mother.  Each piece is coil built and patined with wild spinach and clay slips.  This jar has a classic Acoma form with a wide shoulder and short neck.  There are a series of interlocking butterflies as the design.  The butterfly wings are the white ellipses and they are surrounded by both black and red flowers.  It is a creative design on this jar.  They extend from the rim to near the base.  It is a striking design that flows across the surface of the jar.  It is signed on the bottom, “G. Patricio”.
