This is a striking water jar by Robert Patricio.  This jar with a round shoulder, elongated neck, and slightly turned-out rim.  The jar is polished and then painted with bee weed and two different colors of clay slips.  The neck of the jar has two large Acoma birds.  They are colorful and positioned next to flowers.  Around the body of the jar, there are two colorful geometric rainbows.  The rainbows are separated by large clouds and rain designs. The clouds have the color and the thin lines are the rain.  It is a bold and visually striking design!  The jar has a kinetic flow of design that is emphasized by the variety of clay colors!  The base is painted with red clay.  It is signed on the bottom, “R.  M.  Patricio”.  The jar is an exciting extension of his artistry in clay and continues the amazing Acoma legacy.
