This is a  long neck water jar by Robert Patricio.  This jar has a round body, elongated neck, and flat rim.  It is painted with bee-weed and different clay slips.  The top of the jar is painted with the traditional red clay.  The jar has circular medallions on each side surrounded by traditional sun designs.  They are accented with hatchwork and fine-line designs.  Separating the sun sections are stylized plant designs.  Note all the thin lines!  All coloration and the unique form give this jar an impressive appearance.  The base is painted with red clay.  It is signed on the bottom, “R.  M.  Patricio”.  The jar is an exciting extension of his artistry in clay and continuing the amazing Acoma legacy.
