$ 375.00

Garnet Pavatea is one of the great names in Hopi-Tewa pottery.  She created traditional Hopi pottery but was also well known for her corrugated pieces.  This jar is a classic example of her painted pottery. The jar has a round shoulder and an elongated neck.  The entire piece is fully polished. The is a Hopi bird on each side.  Each bird has the red clay for the head.  The shape and design work beautifully on this jar.   It is traditionally fired, so there are some fireclouds.  It is signed on the bottom, “Garnet Pavatea”.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
