This is a tightly painted plate early piece by Juanita Pena. This plate is from the mid-1920s. We can tell that it is fully polished on the front and back.  As well, the first plates are seen around San Ildefonso in 1922-5.  This piece has a complex raincloud design on the front.  Below the cloud are lines representing rain.  It is fired a deep black.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair but some light surface scratches.  It has her early painted signature and it is signed, “Juanita P.”.
