This is a large classic Zuni jar by Anderson Peynetsa. The jar has a round shoulder and elongated neck.  The neck has rain and lighting designs.  Around the sides are heartline deer and large flower rosettes.  The heartlines are painted with red clay.  The base has prayer feathers.  The heartline deer is a classic image in Zuni pottery, with the heart representing the strength and spirit of the animal. The neck of the jar has a spirit line, the space in the painting, and a cloud pattern.  It is signed on the bottom, “Anderson Peyentsa 99”.
