Pino-Cheromiah, June – Jar with “Snowflake” Designs

6.5"w x 5"h

$ 250.00

June Pino Cheromiah is a granddaughter of Mary Antonio and a daughter of James Pino and Zelda Chaplin Pino.  She learned to make pottery from Rachel Concho, Paul Lucario, Mildred Antonio, and Barbara & Joseph Cerno. Each piece is coil-built from native clay and painted with bee-weed and clay slips.  This jar has a high shoulder and a short neck. The jar is painted with thin lines to create “snowflake” designs.  They extend from the rim to the base.  Sections are highlighted with a deep red clay.  It is signed on the bottom, “June Pino”.
