Red Starr, Elmer – Micro-Mini Jar with Bear and Bowl with Bee (1976 & 79)

Red Starr (Sioux) was married to Santa Clara potter Harriet Tafoya and learned to make Santa Clara pottery.  This is pair of tiny pieces.  The red jar is stone polished and has an etched bear on one side and two bear paws on the opposite side.  There are two inset pieces of turquoise.  The black bowl is highly polished and has a single medallion with a bee.  The opposite side has a tightly etched feather pattern.  Both are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  The red jar is from 1976 and the black fro 1979.  They are both signed on the bottom, “Red Starr”.
