6.5"w x 4"h

$ 1,200.00

This is a traditional carved bowl by Jeff Roller.  Jeff is a son of Toni Roller and a grandson of Margaret Tafoya.  He continues a family legacy of extraordinary traditional pottery.  This bowl is coil built and stone polished.  The bowl is carved with eight interlocking kiva step designs.  The “kiva step” is the three-step pattern that represents the kiva or underground ceremonial room used in the Pueblos.  The bowl is stone polished and fired a deep black coloration.  The simple elegance of the form and design ties the piece to the classic styles of Santa Clara Pueblo.  The bowl is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Jeff Roller” and dated 2020.
