Sahneyha, Madeline – Jar with Star Designs (1990s)

7"w x 4"h

$ 300.00

Madeline Sayneyha is a cousin of potter Mark Tahbo.  In the 1990’s she began making elegant coil built and traditionally fired Hopi-Tewa pottery.  She was quickly known for her thin painted lines and dynamic firing. This jar has stars and clouds as the design. The clouds are painted with both red clay and bee-weed (black).  The jar was traditionally fired with striking fire clouds across the surface.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
