Lilly Salvador is known for her thin-walled pottery and use of native materials to paint her designs.  This open bowl is painted with bee-weed (black). The exterior of the bowl has a lightning and an eternity square design.  Amazingly, the inside of the rim is also fully painted with a mountain and lightning pattern.  In the center is a Mimbres lizard.  The eyes of the lizard are slipped red.  It is very thin-walled and tightly painted.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Lilly”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
