This is an early piece by Russel Sanchez.  The bowl is from 1987.  The piece is polished with white clay.  It is incised with shells across the surface. The shells are either slipped brown or etched in the natural color of the clay.  There is an additional painted red clay line that connects the shells.  The opening is asymmetrical.  The bowl was traditionally fired.  It is signed with Russell’s hallmark for 1987, and the date ’87.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
