8.5"w x 10.5"h

$ 825.00

Dee Setalla is a son of noted potter Pauline Setalla and a brother of Stetson Setalla, Gwen Setalla, and Agnes Nasonhoya.  This large jar has a high shoulder and a long neck.  The jar is painted with bee-weed (black) and a red clay slip. The designs are painted in four panels that encircle the jar. Around the neck are water designs.  The panels have cloud, rain, corn, snow, and star designs.  They are very complex in pattern and fill the surface of the jar.  There are light blushes to the surface from the firing.  The bowl is signed with his initials “D. S.” and bear paw (for Bear Clan).  Most recently, Dee won the prestigious “Helen Naha” Award at Santa Fe Indian Market in 2019.
