9"w x 6.5"h

$ 625.00

Stetson Setalla is a grandson of Paqua Naha (Frogwoman) and the son of Pauline Setalla. His brother Dee and sisters Gwen Setalla and Agnes Nahsonhoya also make pottery. Stetson began making pottery at the age of 19.  This is a classic larger water jar with a round body and it has a fluted rim.  The design around the body of the jar is a feather pattern above a cloud design.  The interior of the rim is painted with a thinly painted cloud pattern.  The jar is painted with bee-weed and red clay slips and traditionally fired.  There are strong blushes from the firing. It is signed on the bottom with his name “S. Setalla” and a raincloud.
