Kathleen Jopovi Tafoya Silva (b.1947) is a daughter of Mary Agnes Tafoya and a granddaughter of Severa Tafoya. She learned to make pottery from her grandmother.  This red jar has a classic shape with a round shoulder and elongated neck.  It has a terraced mesa design etched into the clay around the shoulder.  It is highly polished and traditionally fired.  The jar is signed, ‘Jopovi Silva Tafoya”.  t is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
