Sisneros, Jerry – Black Jar with Avanyu

4"w x 3"h

$ 200.00

Jerry Sisneros learned to make pottery from his mother, Olaria Sisneros.  He was never prolific but created well-polished and intricately painted pieces.  This jar has a wide, round shoulder and a short neck.  There is an avanyu painted encircling the top of the shoulder of the jar.  It is a very intricately painted water serpent and the bowl is highly polished.  The painting leaves enough open polished space to reveal the highly polished surface.  The jar is signed on the bottom, “Jerry Sisneros”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
