Sisneros, Jerry – Red Jar with Feather Design
Jerry Sisneros learned to make pottery from his mother, Olaria Sisneros. He was never prolific but created well polished and intricately painted pieces. This jar has a sharp shoulder and an elongated neck. It is painted red-on-red with a feather pattern. The ends of the feathers, both by the neck and the shoulder, are highlighted with white clay. It is a striking combination. The jar is signed on the bottom, “JM Sisneros”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
