Jacquie Stevens is best known for the simple use of forms on her pottery.  However, her Winnebago ancestry inspired her to often combine pottery and basketry together.  This jar uses the simplicity of form with a textured surface. The jar is made from a white clay and has a series of small dots encompassing the surface of the piece.  It has been reduction fired to make it black.  The piece has a minimalist style with an organic form.  The piece is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay.
