Candelaria Suazo is a daughter of potters Joe and Santanita Suazo.  Her sisters include Martha Suazo (the wife of Art Cody Haungooah), Margie Naranjo, Mae Tapia, and Shirley Duran.  She learned to make pottery from her mother.  This miniature bowl is coil-built and fully polished.  It is etched with a flute player in a medallion surrounded by feather designs.  On the sides are clouds, rain, and lightning, designs.  The medallion is “two-toned” to make the piece black and sienna in coloration.  Note the high polish and delicate etching on this piece.  It is signed on the bottom, “Candelaria Suazo”.
