Mary Evangeline “Vangie” Suina (b. 1959) learned to make pottery from her mother, Louise E. Suina (1939-1992). This is one of her classic storytellers 12 children. Each of the children is doing something different, from holding a ball to reading a book. The mother has on a shawl which is also intricately painted on the back. The figure is signed on the bottom, “Vangie Suina”. It is from 1981 and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
