Tafoya, Camilio – Set of Three Jars with Feather Patterns (1975)
This is a group of three pieces by Camilio Tafoya. They are each from 1975. They are variations on the classic “eagle feather” design. The imagery is etched into the clay. The tall jar has a feather pattern with a mountain design on the rim. The wide jar has a very tightly etched feather pattern with a cloud pattern on the rim. The seedpot has a feather pattern etched into the top. They are each signed and dated on the bottom, “Camilio “Sunflower” Tafoya. They are each from 1975 and they are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair. I have put them together as a set, as it is amazing after all these years to have a group of pieces from the same year and in a similar design but different shapes. Definitely an important grouping of work by Camilio!
