Celes Tafoya was a daughter of Legoria Tafoya and a nice of Pablita Velarde and Jane Baca. She often worked in collaboration with her mother, Legoria Tafoya, until her death in 1984. She also worked with her daughter Evelyn Tafoya. This oval bowl is carved with an avanyu as the design encircling the piece.  The entire bowl is polished, including the interior.  The bowl is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Celes & Evelyn”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
