Tafoya, Cresencia – Square Sided Polychrome Bowl (1960s)
Cresencia Tafoya is the mother of noted potters Harriet Tafoya and Annie Baca. This is an exceptional piece of her polychrome pottery. The bowl is fully polished and has flat sides. Each side is painted with different clay colors which are then outlined in red. There are rain cloud patterns on all four sides. Note that there are five different clay slips used on this bowl! Amazing! The piece is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair. It is signed on the bottom, “Cresencia”. Shipping included.
