This is a larger four-sided jar that is fully designed on each side by Jennifer Tafoya.  The jar is thin-walled, coil-built, and stone polished.  The jar has four flat sides for the design.  While it isn’t huge, consider that each side has as much design work as one of her larger seedpots!  The jar has one side with a woolly mammoth, one with two saber tooth tigers, and another with a Megalocerus (Ice Age Elk), one with Kelenken (Terror Bird) and a Glyptodon (a large armored armadillo).  There are EIGHT different figures on the sides of this exceptional jar.  Each has different Ice Age animals and different designs.  They extend up above the shoulder and each is surrounded by traditional clouds, rain, and Pueblo designs.  There are additional Santa Clara designs. Jennifer continues to not just be creative in design, but in technique.  All the various colors are derived from natural clay slips.  The piece is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Jennifer Tafoya”.
