This is an intricately designed new seedpot by Jennifer Tafoya.  She is known for her clay vessels and also her amazing animal figures!  This piece is fully polished and fully designed.  On one side is a Tyrannosaurus Rex and the opposite side has a Triceritops.  Jennifer has long been interested in dinosaurs and we have even hand two shows with them as the theme!  First, take a look at the Tyrannosaurus.  The detail on the scales and teeth is exceptional.  Note as well the relief carving of the plants in the back.  On the opposite side, again the scales are so tiny and detailed.  Note above the horns how deeply she cut into the clay to give the piece added depth and dimension.  She did the same with the eagle feathers on the side.  The sides also have dinosaur tracks as the design.  Jennifer continues to not just be creative in design, but in technique.  All the various colors are derived from natural clay slips.  Jennifer continues to be one of the leading innovative potters working today!  The piece is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Jennifer Tafoya”.
