6"w x 4.5"h

$ 625.00

This is a collaborative bowl by Lee Tafoya (1926-96) and his daughter, Linda Tafoya.  Lee was a son of noted potter Margaret Tafoya.  In the 1980’s Linda created some pieces in collaboration with her father.  He would make and design the bowls and she would carve and polish them.  The bowl is a classic round shape and it is deeply carved with a water serpent.  The water serpent has a squared head for which Lee was known on his pottery.  The piece is deeply carved and highly polished, as expected from Linda.  The bowl is fired a deep black.  It is signed on the bottom, “Lee & Linda Tafoya”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
