Mida Tafoya is a daughter of Christina Naranjo and a sister of Teresita Naranjo and Mary Cain.  She is known for her traditional style of Santa Clara carved pottery.  This bowl is deeply carved with a mountain design. There are twelve mountains carved into the clay.  The surface is highly polished and it was traditionally fired a deep black.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Mida Tafoya”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
