This miniature seedpot by Ray Tafoya is fully polished and tall in shape.  It has a hummingbird and flower etched into the clay.  The center of the flower is the “hole” for the seedpot.  There are additional bird wing and mountain designs.  The seedpot is highlighted with additional clay slips for the various colorations.  Note how many of the designs surrounding the buffalo are similar to ones used today by his daughter, Jennifer Tafoya.  The seedpot is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  It is signed on the bottom with his hallmark that means “White Mountain” in Tewa.
