Tafoya-Sanchez, Linda – Bowl Waterfall Ribs
Linda Tafoya-Sanchez is a granddaughter of noted potter Margaret Tafoya and she is know for her carved pottery. This bowl is carved with four melon ribs extending from the neck to the base. Each rib is carved into the clay and the entire piece is fully polished. The bowl was highly fired with an almost metallic appearance to the surface. The style of combining the melon ribs and the plain polished surface gives the piece a very modern appearance. It is signed on the bottom, “Linda Tafoya-Oyenque”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
