8.75"w x 4.75"h

$ 1,600.00

Mark Tahbo was known not just for his painted pottery, but especially for the blushes on his pottery from the firing.  This wide jar is from 1993.  It is one of his larger pieces and it is fully polished on the inside and the outside.  Mark polished it in a horizontal manner.  The outside is painted with squash blossoms (red clay) and corn plants (black bee-weed). There are also small dragonflies.  The piece was traditionally fired to create the striking colorations on the surface.  The jar is signed on the bottom “Mark Tahbo”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  Definitely a classic of his pottery!
