Michelle Tapia-Browning is a daughter of noted potter LuAnn Tafoya and a sister of Daryl Whitegeese. While she is better known for her photography and woodworking, she is also a gifted potter.  This jar has a low shoulder and sloping sides.  There are four bear paws as the design and the piece is fully polished. The jar is fired a deep black coloration.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Michelle Y. Tapia”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
