Leonidas Tapia began making pottery in the late 1960s.  She was the mother of potters Tom Tapia and Mary Gutierrez.  This pitcher is polished on the spout, handle, and base.  It is more deeply carved and highlighted with white and red clay slips.  The design is a cloud and rainbow pattern.  It is signed, “Leonidas Tapia”.  The pitcher is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
