Ramona Tapia (1940-2003) was a daughter of noted potter Dolorita Gutierrez and a nice of Celestina Naranjo. She was the mother of Sarah, Lee and Michelle Tapia. She was known for her deeply carved pottery.  This small bowl is deeply carved with six feathers.  The rim and the feathers are fully polished.  The bowl is fired a deep black.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Ramona Tapia”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  It includes one of her business cards!
