This water jar was made and polished by Sue Tapia and etched with designs by Tom Tapia.  It is a very intricate piece of his work as it is fully designed.  The piece has a wide shoulder and a turned-out rim. The entire surface is fully polished and the jar was fired a deep black.  On the neck and base it is etched with feathers.  Around the top of the shoulder is a bear, bear paw, sun, Pueblo, bird, and water jar.  There is a lot of design for the size!  The designs are all highlighted with a pinkish-red clay slip.  The piece is signed, “Tom & Sue Tapia”.   It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
