This is a large water jar by Robert Tenorio.  The jar is painted with wild spinach (black), red clay.  The neck of the jar is fluted and slipped red.  Around the neck is a band of snow checkerboard designs.  Below are sun and rain patterns.  Around the body of the jar are sun designs along with four Pueblo birds.  Each bird is painted differently with traditional designs used for their bodies and wings.  The jar is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Robert Tenorio”, and he also signed it again on the bottom in bee-weed.  The jar is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
