Irene Tse-Pe (b. 1961) is a daughter of Dora Tse-Pe and Tse-Pe Gonzales and a granddaughter of Rose Gonzales.  This jar has a classic shape and design in the style of her mother.  The jar has a sharp shoulder and a sloping neck.  The bottom half of the jar is fully polished. The area above the shoulder is carved with an avanyu in the “cameo” style of Rose and Dora.  The top half is slipped with mica in contrast to the polished area.  It was traditionally fired a glassy black.  The jar is signed, “Irene Tse-Pe”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  It is from 1989.
