This is a clay bird figure from Santa Clara Pueblo.  The bird figure is unsigned and was made in the 1950s.  These were typical pieces made for tourists who visited the Pueblo.  This bird is painted with designs on the wings and tail.  While I normally don’t carry unsigned work, I was impressed with the condition and design of this piece. The bird is highly polished and well painted with designs.  Most often, these pieces have not survived over time.  The bird is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
