Marie Vallo was a daughter of Gladys Garica. She was the mother of noted potters Leland Vallo and Kim Vallo. This jar is entitled, “Mimbres Antelope”.  The jar has a wide shoulder and a fluted rim. Around the shoulder of the piece, it is painted a Mimbres Antelope medallion. There are additional feathers and rain design, which are very tightly painted.  The jar is signed on the bottom, “M. Vallo”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
