10.5"w x 8.5"h

$ 1,200.00

Shayetsa White Dove (b. 1956) began making pottery in 1984.  She learned to make pottery from her grandmother, Connie O. Cerhno.  Her focus has long been on historic Acoma designs.  The jar was made by Connie Cerno and then painted by Sayetsa.  It is exceptional in person!  It is coil-built using native clay, painted with bee-weed and natural clay slips.  This piece is a classic large Acoma -style water jar shape.  There are four large Acoma birds underneath red clay slipped rainbows around the sides of the jar.  They are separated by a checkerboard pattern. The neck of the jar has eight pars, each in its own star pattern.  The designs are tightly painted and overall, the jar is beautiful in coloration!  It is signed on the bottom, “Connie O. Cerno & Shayetsa”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
